Currently the London Street Tunnels Operation Centre (LSTOC) consists of various unconnected systems that are operated collectively to ensure the safe and reliable operation of 12 tunnels and the traffic systems on 90 km of associated roads. The current operator arrangements are inefficient to use, lack some important functionality and are not scalable. TfL is seeking improvements to the capability and reliability of the Disaster Recovery provision. The aim is to procure a new fully integrated and resilient multi operator interface hardware and software solution that connects to, monitors and controls the existing sub-systems and/or end-point devices in the field via a newly established dedicated and secure TfL intranet. The intention is for this procurement to provide resilient control capability hosted in two existing high quality data centres and the primary and disaster recovery operator user interfaces in two separate TfL central London facilities.
